Students and staff celebrated returning to school after March break with a school-wide picnic. People participated in games and some even tried ice fishing on Stewart lake. Lunch was provided for all staff and students. Students and staff had fun roasting hotdogs over the campfire. The weather was great. It was a wonderful way for everyone to reconnect after break and enjoy the great outdoors together.

Visit From Astronaut David St-Jacques

Astronaut ISA 1993
Astronaut David St-Jacques came to our school to make a presentation on his personal journey since joining the Canadian Space Program.
Prior to joining the Canadian Space Program, he was a medical doctor and the Co-chief of Medicine at Inuulitsivik Health Centre in Puvirnituq, Nunavik, Canada.
He visited our students, made a presentation, and answered the student's questions. After this, he had time to meet individually with interested students and was even interviewed by one of our students for a student-made film.

Student Snow Sculptures

During the first week of March, the students of our school were lucky enough to experience creating snow sculptures. Throughout the course of the week, master carver M. Jacques Baril, introduced the students to the art of creating snow sculptures.  Each student team had to make a cylinder of pressed snow. Once this was done, the group had to imagine a figure that could be created using the snow cylinder as a base. This new experience has stimulated the student’s interest in 3D imaging. These works of art, although they were ephemeral, showed the talent and creativity of our students.
